The Marketing
I have been missing in action as a new Author. Dung Bag Road, my book will not market itself. Would the extra $4,000 for marketing my book been worth it? I’m sure it would, but like many ventures, funding can be a barrier.
In-person experiences are valuable and that is what has kept me busy the past couple months. Talking with folks about my book, I continue to be reminded that I am not unique in my experience with depression. I am happy to share what worked for me.
Some of the things I do now to keep healthy in body and mind is participate in Senior Olympics. September and October are my track season, if you will. I must qualify for events in 2022 in order to be eligible for Nationals in 2023. And I have.
Qualified!
Recently, I have participated in the Illinois Senior Olympics, the Nevada Senior Games, and the Huntsman World Games in Utah. I am pleased to share I have qualified for the following events:
- 50M – 8.5 (Illinois Senior Olympics)
- 100M – 18.1 (Illinois Senior Olympics)
- Discus – 85’5” (Huntsman World Games, Utah)
- Shot Put – 29’4” (Nevada Senior Games)
- Long Jump – 11’4″ (Illinois Senior Olympics)
- High Jump – 4’0” (Illinois Senior Olympics)
- Javelin – 50’01” (Nevada Senior Games)
- Triple Jump – 20’09” (Nevada Senior Games)
Grace
Conditioning and training shall be ongoing from now until 2023 Nationals (NSGA) in Pittsburgh! Improvement on time, speed, and distance is required to be competitive at the national level. And… I am a bit competitive but believe in grace. Grace can go a long way in track competitions and in life situations and circumstances. Healing is possible.
50+
The ladies in the picture to the right are in their upper 50s and are rocking track & field. Showing up is half the battle – so true!
