A BUSY “TH” DAY
TH (Theoretical Housewife)
MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY
Monday is scheduled as a cleaning day. Laundry, extra cleaning in the kitchen, floors, picking up from the weekend. I did sneak in a couple of Netflix shows…. Wheel of Time and Foundation, and rest breaks. The exercising has decreased ever since coming down with Covid-19 in November of 2020. I just can’t seem to get back into that groove. As a result, my cardio is suffering. That’s one blessing of being a TH. I take breaks when I need them.
Fast forward to Tuesday. Tuesday Toilets! Time to swash down the toilet bowls. 4 of them! Trust me, the people I live with do not even think about cleaning them. Ugh. I’m over it. I use the Clorox Toilet Wands so that I don’t have to mess with the stick brush. I get to dispose of the brush after each use. Is that the best way to clean a toilet bowl? I’m not sure. I do know that it makes me feel good to toss it. My sister turned me on to the Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner Cleaning Bleach Gel. Give the bowl a spray, let it ooze its way down the bowl, and swing by later to clean. It makes the swirling and swishing easy-peasy.
It’s Wednesday! My designated day off. I need to designate a day off because I work every day of the week. No time off for this TH and in-the-home-Caregiver. The day began as usual. Get the BroMan breakfast, morning routine complete, and ready to go out on the town. Then, get me ready. But not before waking up early to get “me” time and at least one of two cups of coffee down.
Kohl’s I
Once we were ready, we headed out the door. Off to Koh’s to pick up online orders and to look around for sales. I’ve got a Christmas list 18-20 names long. Folks have been good this year. And thanks to my dear friend, Sylvia, I was made aware of a 40% off coupon to be used only today! After an hour at the store, it was time to leave for a previously planned engagement (an arrangement to do something or go somewhere at a fixed time). But I was not finished! So, I left my items at the Customer Service desk. I had to be back at 5:00 p.m. to pick them up.
TIME TO EAT
It’s great to get out again. I appreciate meeting with one of my favorite “Lisa’s” for lunch. She looked great (professional and nice hair) and we always have great conversations. I ordered the Asian Salad and the BroMan had his usual – a hamburger. Once we were done with lunch, it was on to more shopping.
SAM’S CLUB
Sam’s Club was a little busy but not too crowded. The main things on my list – get the Hubs his Diet Coke, the BroMan his Coke Zero, and some TOILET PAPER! We were getting low on all of those items. $hit will hit the fan if we run out of those 3 items. Do you use the Sam’s Scan & Go app to check out? We do. I love it. Today, though, it didn’t work for me. The one item I did not scan was the turkey lunch meat. Of course, the Sam’s Club Associate scanned the lunch meat and it did not register. I counted 12 items and paid for 12 items. But the turkey was not on the receipt. I looked again and counted again. There it is. The hamburgers were scanned twice and the turkey not at all.
I didn’t once feel like I was trying to cheat the system because I knew I counted the items! Technology is great except when it isn’t. This error was human though. I have to take the credit for that one. That earned us a trip to their Customer Service desk. I explained the circumstances and it was fixed in no time. We then went on our way.
HOME
Gotta get the grocery items home and put away. Also, gotta get the BroMan home so he can rest a bit. He loves to get out with me but gets tired. I think he joneses for his music to be honest. And I think he takes an afternoon nap as well. That’s okay. He deserves a break every day! I dropped the groceries off and got them put away. Then I take off again to Kohl’s to finish shopping.
KOHL’S II
Back to Koh’s. I pick up where I left off. Got the items I left with Customer Service and went shopping again. Gotta make use of the one-time one-day 40% off coupon. I got some good deals for our $25 and under Santa Gifts. Best of all, I found a great deal on an item “i” wanted but didn’t get. It was a Black Friday Deal that I missed out on. Ninja® Foodi® Power Blender & Processor System with Smoothie Bowl Maker and Nutrient Extractor 1400 Watts, originally $189.99, on sale for $179.00. The Black Friday Deal was $129.99 and I missed it! Instead, I purchased the Ninja Professional Plus Blender DUO for $119.00. I hated that I missed this in-store only deal.
Isn’t it funny how hate can turn into love when you find just the right deal? I always go the kitchen department and see what kind of clearance items they have available. I hate paying full price for anything! There are exceptions. The Ninja Power Blender that I wanted was sitting there on the clearance shelf. It was listed as $159.99. As Sandy, in the movie Grease, says “you’re the one that I want!” That was it! (The Customer Service Associate explained that it was an online purchase item that was returned. That is why they had to sell it at a discount. If it was used or broke in any way, they could not sell it). Toss in the 40% off coupon and the little bit of Kohl’s cash I had, I paid $85.89! ($12.83 was Kohl’s cash).
HOME AGAIN
It was time to go to the grocery store to get items that I could not get at Sam’s Club. I called the Hubs and he heard my tired voice. He offered to take us out do dinner. I said yes! I had planned on making Egg Foo Young for dinner and knew it involved a lot of chopping. What a relief. It’s wonderful when a guy can tell what a girl wants, what a girl needs, whatever makes her happy… (hey Christina Aguilera!).
DINNER
Dinner was great. The best part was that I didn’t have to do the dishes! (Yes, I’d still have to do the dishes on my day off.)
GROCERY STORE
The Hubs dropped me off and I went in for the speedy shopping of a minimal list of items. Here’s the nugget: I needed to get some Preparation H. Because of Its bright yellow packaging I should find it easily, right? Wrong. It wasn’t in the Pain Relief section. It wasn’t in the First-Aid section. I looked everywhere for that yellow box. Dang! I don’t want to ask an Associate to help me. That won’t be embarrassing at all. I made the rounds again hoping to avoid asking the question.
Since I could not find it on my own, I had to ask the pharmacist. They were very helpful and found it right away. Yes. It was in front of my nose. If it were a snake, it would have bit me in the ___. (insert laugh). It wasn’t as yellow as I imagined it would be. I got it and went on my way (Yes, I used the self-checkout!).
HOME FOR THE NIGHT
I am back home after my long day off. It is time to make a list to help me keep track of Christmas gifts. I always wanted to make sure I was fair with the gifts that were given to my three children. Even though they are adults I still try and be fair. Otherwise, I could go hog wild, especially with a 40% of coupon! This is just another day in my life. It was a busy TH day!
Take Good Care!
P.S. It’s late. So, my “transition words” are poor. I will try and fix tomorrow.
